Our Memorial Pond Near Completion

Here is our new refurbished pond. It is surrounded by Florida fieldstone and has a lovely waterfall in the corner. The pond has always been a focal point of the sanctuary and our aim is to create a place of tranquility and contemplation.

We are now ready to begin landscaping in preparation of our Memorial Pond and Wall of Friends Project.

Ronnie Gaylord, Jr. of G.P. Masonry of Ocala, a family owned and operated business since 1982, is kindly donating his time in the construction of our Memorial Pond Columns and our Wall of Friends. Help us in our continuing service to animals in need and create a unique memorial to a departed loved one or a beloved pet by purchasing a Memorial Brick. The cost is $100.00 per brick. These engraved bricks will create a lasting memory around our Memorial Pond. It's Lilly from Saving Animals For Everyone, also known as S.A.F.E. Sanctuary. Our local newspaper, the Ocala Star-Banner, recently wrote another article about us! POND WORK HAS BEGUN!

It's been a long time coming, but we finally began the pond restoration. There will be pictures posted on our website so you all can see the new pond. As mentioned in earlier newsletters, the new pond will be a Memorial Pond. Bricks are still avaliable for purchase at $100.00 per brick. These bricks will create a unique, lasting tribute for a departed loved one or beloved pet. 100% of the funds generated by the bricks will go directly to S.A.F.E. Sanctuary.

SHANTIE (OUR WOLF) HAS ADOPTED!

Shantie, our wolf, has "adopted" Suzi, a Chihuahua mix puppy who was brought to the Sanctuary. Even though Shantie is ten times Suzi's size, they have become best pals. They will run and play together and love to "wrestle", which consists of Suzi climbing on Shantie's tummy as she lies on her back! One of Suzi's wrestling moves is to put her entire head into Shantie's mouth while Shantie lays there with her mouth open as if she is getting a dental check-up....quite a sight to see! It reminds me of those small fish who travel alongside of sharks to "groom" them. Pictures of both Shantie and Suzi are posted on our website, and very soon we will have a video of them on the site so you can watch their antics.

OUR WISH LIST

I am hoping that there are a few angels out there who would be able to donate the following needed items that are desperately needed at this time:

* Digital camera: This will be used to photograph animals as they arrive at the Sanctuary. If the animal is in poor condition, we want to be able to do "before" and "after" photographs, as well as document the animals' rehabilitation progress. When they are ready to be out up for adoption, we can post their photo on our website. We can also take pictures of events here at the Sanctuary to keep a photo diary to update our website.

* A chest-style freezer. Our old freezer bit the dust and we are in need of a new (or used) one to store perishable foods.

* A phone system for the office, specifically a set which includes a base (corded) phone as well as a cordless handset. Speaker phone, hold, and caller ID features are a must.

* Microsoft Office computer software for our office computer. Our operating system is Windows XP. This will help us increase productivity in the office.

If you can donate one of these items to us, or know someone who can, pleawe let me know. Or, financial contributions to help us purchase these items will be greatly appreciated.
